But to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God.”   -Micah 6:8

Godly justice proceeds from a just or right character.

In fact, it is hard to separate justice from righteousness and impossible to discuss it without considering fairness of judgment, particularly in the treatment of people. The perfect example of justice proceeding from righteous character is the justice of God.

But let justice roll on like a river,

righteousness like a never-failing stream!

  -Amos 5:24

We can love many things in life, but to love kindness is a lifestyle, a mindset, a heart condition. To show mercy and to love kindness is a precious posture to take. God demonstrated this in the most merciful act of rescue- sending Messiah Jesus as Savior for a rebellious people. (Romans 5:8)

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.- Lamentations 3:22-23

Walk humbly 3 .jpg

When we walk humbly, we are free from arrogance and pride. We admit we do not know everything or have it all together. In fact, we could probably use help. When we walk in humility, we walk with deference and accept the idea that God may have a better way.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom. -Psalm 11:2

"But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness."   -Jesus

(Matthew 23:23)
